Transfer Credits and Life Experience Credits
What are Transfer Credits?

Courses taken at other universities and institutions.

Course in Biblical Studies, Leadership, Management.

In order for a transfer credit to be received, the course must have a grade of “C-“ or better.

Grace College will not accept AP classes offered by High Schools.

Each approved course applied to a degree path with be $35 (3 credits)

A minimum of 50% degree requirements must be completed through course work at GBSL.

What is Life Experience Credit?

Knowledge and skills gained outside the classroom upon high school graduation.

Credit for life experience obtained through specific activities such as community work, volunteerism, seminars, workshops, skills training, participation in nonprofit or church organization.

Life credits are exchanged for academic credits and will be applied toward to your degree program.

Life credits allow GBSL to honor and celebrate your leadership outside the classroom.
Life Experience Credit Information

Students who are enrolling in GBSL may apply for Life Experience Credit. Life Experience Credit may be earned for verifiable experience in areas of faith, leadership, and business.

Credits may be earned for such things as ministry work, missions work, military experience, volunteer or nonprofit experience, membership and leadership in civic or community organizations, teaching positions, books authored, outreach ministries.

Generally speaking, you may earn a minimum three (3) credits for each element of experience.

A minimum of 50% degree requirements must be completed through course work at GBSL.
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)

Each student may submit a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to determine qualification for academic credits based on prior life experiences and knowledge gained.

The PLA is $50 (nonrefundable), which is due and payable at the time the student submits his/her PLA.

Upon review, the GBSL Board will make its determination whether or not any of the documented experiences qualify for academic credit.

Verification may be required from you or other sources to determine eligibility.

Each approved credit block is $35 (3 credits).
