Degree Granting Status
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board of Texas and the Texas Workforce Commission has determined that the Gerald Brooks School of Leadership qualifies for religious exempt status from the oversight and licensing of both governing entities. GBSL has received exemption based on the following programs: Associate of Biblical Leadership (ABL), Bachelor of Biblical Leadership (BBL), Master of Biblical Leadership (MBL), and Doctor of Biblical Leadership (DBL). The Texas Education Coordinating Board will have no oversight in the administration, faculty, business practices, financial condition, or the quality of this institution. GBSL is also exempt from the general and ongoing Requirements for Licensed Career Schools determined by the Texas Workforce Commission. Accreditation Status
The School of Leadership is a member of Transworld Accrediting Commission International. Serving the Christian education community for over 30 years, Transworld is a federally recognized, non-profit church educational organization. Their philosophy is to demonstrate accountability to the consuming public for education obtained in nontraditional evangelical educational institutions. TRANSWORLD oversees more than 1000 member institutions including schools, seminaries, universities, colleges, and institutes both in the United States and internationally. They provide documented evidence of compliance with standards of structure and governance, material resources, policies, faculty, and curriculum. TRANSWORLD'S overall purpose is to promote academic excellence and accountability.

GBSL is not accredited through an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Transfer Credits
The School of Leadership will accept transfer credits from other colleges for courses within the general guidelines of its programs. Transfer credits will only apply toward the undergraduate programs at GBSL . GBSL maintains the discretion to accept and award transfer credits.

Credits transferred from other institutions will be accepted on a course-by-course basis.

GBSL will accept up to 50% of transfer credits towards a degree. The remaining credits must be completed at GBSL.

30 of the required 60 credits are eligible to transfer for an Associate's Degree.

60 of the required 120 credits are eligible to transfer for a Bachelor’s Degree.

In order for a transfer credit to be received, the course must have a grade of “C-“ or better.

Life Experience Credit
Life Experience in Ministry (LEM) credit is only available for the undergraduate level. A qualified applicant for LEM is a students who meets the following requirements:

Applicant is required to pay the LEM application fee and for each LEM credit awarded by GBSL , as referenced in the Financial Information section of the Student Catalog.

Additionally, LEM credits are accepted at the discretion of GBSL.
